FOR FUTURE REFERENCE:

The board approved the following policy. The trip cancellation policy states that there will be a 25% non-refundable deposit of the total cost of the package for out of state trips consisting of one week. The only exception is a verified medical condition. This is due to problems in the past with people canceling at the last minute because of a change of mind.

EDITORS NEWS TO NOTE:
  • A reminder. The Board has established a policy to have all future Snowdrifter Ski club Functions/Events be "BYOB". The ski club will not provide any alcohol at any club events. This is due to insurance liability.
  • If you hosted an event, we'd like to hear how it turned out. Please send me your write up by the 15th of the month and it'll get published in the Snowjob.
  • Also, if you are an event chairperson, PLEASE let me know whether you want your name, address and phone number on our Web Page.
  • If you plan on organizing a one day event you will need to contact Yvonne Dorey first to make sure there is not another Snowdrifter event already scheduled for that day.

As your news editor I look forward to doing the Snowjob and am open to any suggestions from you the members. My goal is to get the newsletter to the printer by the first of each month so every member can receive the information included in a timely fashion. In order to do this I will need to have all the information by the 15th of the preceding month. I can not guarantee that anything received after this date will be included.

Notes from the EDITOR
General Information and Changes
.

A few items discussed at the board meeting. The board has approved, at my request, to change the newsletter information deadline to the 15th of the month. This means, for example, that information for the Dec newsletter needs to be sent to me on or before the 15th of each month. This is in an effort to get the newsletter to the membership by the 1st of each month. I will not deviate from this policy!

Also discussed at the September board meeting were how trips are planned and the steps necessary to include information in the newsletter. It was noted that single day events, not involving an overnight stay, only need to be approved and verified by the Activities Director. In our case, this means Yvonne Dorey. Multiple day events, involving an overnight stay, need to be approved by the board first and then are verified by the Activities Director. This means, in all cases, to have your information listed in the newsletter, you need to contact Yvonne Dorey and be sure she has it listed. As your Editor, I need to know each event has been approved and listed by Yvonne. This policy is needed to avoid trip conflicts and confusion. Any idea's to make the newsletter better are appreciated. I am thankful for your praise, your input on area's that might be problematic, and creative idea's on how I might make the newsletter even better. Thanks for your interest and participation.
