Here are some of the ideas that we are working on. I have had a number of people request that we do the Annual Mackinac Island trip which would be in February usually around Valentine's Day weekend. A couple of other ideas are to possibly go to the Tawas Bay area for a cottage weekend & ski Corsair, a weekend in Petoskey in which Cross Country Skiers' can ski the beautiful state park area & Nordic skiers can enjoy the Highlands. In years past we have stayed in the Bay view area at the historic Terrace Inn. Both trips are fairly reasonable in cost. I personally am willing to sponsor one trip, but would help with another if someone else would take the lead.
Additionally, local snow permitting, many of us would like to do day trips on Saturday's or Sundays this coming winter. This will require a number of interested people volunteering to call a number of folks the day(s) before via phone and or email. Past our day trips have taken us to Pine Haven in Sanford, Immerman Park in Saginaw Township, Tobico Marsh at the Bay City State Park, etc. We generally gather afterwards for a bite to eat & a toddy at a local pub. It's a great way to enjoy the outdoors mid winter & blow the stink off. If interested, please let me know.
